Upgrading a crew to expert with a plane gives you some bonus stats (shown in green to the right of your normal crew stats), you can do it on as many planes as you want for the same crew :). For aircraft: Pilot G tolerance and stamina, weapon maintenance. Unbuffed crews get better results. Even maxed out and Expert'd I think I only shave off . Good, except RP that you earned flying / driving a vehicle with a crew before this patch doesn't count because Gajoob.
